Today was a very important day for our family. It was Rowan's first day at school. Well, it was only for half an hour, but he did get to meet his teachers and new friends. He walked into the classroom with big eyes and went directly to the shelves that were stacked full of interesting toys and puzzles. He seemed to feel at home right away. I stood back and watched him interact with his new environment. The teachers both have many years of experience with children Rowan's age and this is evident in the way they manage to get these two year olds to do exactly what they ask them to do. Now that is a super power I would like to have. That's for sure.

The school officially starts on the 1st of September and although I still feel a little nervous about my little guy going off into the great big world all by himself, I must say that I do feel a lot better after today's introduction. I think he is going to enjoy school and all the new friends that come with it.

  1. Sounds great, I hope it goes as well on Tuesday :-)
You could consider having richard go with him instead of you, mother's tend to be more nervous and kids feel that. Steve dropped off Mia the first time, she did fine and still loves it. good luck, Anke

  2. Richard will be dropping Rowan off at school on Tuesday. He offered since he knows that I wouldn't cope too well with the situation. He is such a nice guy and devoted father.
